Automation at Notino: What’s Already Working and Where We’re Heading Next
Notino is the largest European online retailer of perfumes and cosmetics, operating in 27 countries. During the Christmas season, its logistics centers handle up to 220,000 orders daily. This volume is processed across four distribution centers in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Italy, covering over 90,000 m². Such performance would not be possible without automation. It has developed gradually, with numerous decisions, changes, and mistakes from which the company had to learn. Today, the distribution centers feature automation for sorting packaged orders, semi-automated storage, automated pallet movements, packing, and order picking. Alongside commercial solutions, machines and technologies custom-developed to meet Notino’s needs play a crucial role. In this presentation, Tomáš Hofer, Chief Logistics Officer, will share how automation truly originates and operates. You will learn why and where automation is implemented, how it is integrated into the organizational structure, the process for selecting and implementing solutions, and the priorities for the upcoming period. The presentation will also include shared experiences, many of which are often gained not from presentations, but from hands-on practice.
