Excursion to the Kaufland distribution center in Modletice
The Kaufland Modletice distribution center is one of two modern large-capacity logistics centers through which this retail chain provides logistics services for its Czech branches. In mid-May 2022, a new warehouse for an assortment of fruits and vegetables was ceremoniously opened in Modletice (details here). Two new halls contributed to the tripling of the storage capacity for this type of goods to 15,000 m2. The object is designed in such a way so that automation for the assembly of goods can be installed in it in the near future. The new warehouse is the culmination of three stages of modernization of the Modletice area, which included the construction of a new gatehouse and parking lot for trucks, substation, wastewater treatment plant, charging points for electric cars or sprinkler stations. A two-story parking lot for employees’ cars was also created. Since last year, in line with the company’s plans, the capacity for storing fresh goods has been doubled. The Modletice distribution center employs 500 workers and supplies more than half of Kaufland’s branches on a daily basis.
The excursion will be led by Juraj Bendík, the head of logistics at Kaufland.
