Malfini automates textile logistics

Malfini automates textile logistics

The presentation will be focused on the order-picking process in the Malfini logistics center. The selection of the optimal textile-picking solution will be described in the form of a case study, where the basic criteria were ensuring the necessary performance for the planned growth, increasing efficiency and reducing physically demanding work, while ensuring the required return on investment. The company decided to purchase a robotic storage and retrieval system for plastic containers of the AutoStore brand. The investment amounts to almost a quarter of a billion CZK. The system should be put into operation at the end of June. Almost 100,000 plastic boxes with goods will be stored on an area of 2,900 square meters. 65 robots will be in charge of service, which will pick goods according to orders along the fastest-available routes calculated by the control system. The supply of electricity will be ensured by a solar power plant with approximately a thousand panels on the roof and facade of the warehouse and a powerful battery system for energy storage. An automated conveyor system will be connected to the AutoStore system, which will “cover” the entire logistics, from the automated assembly of the selected box to its closing, labeling and delivery of the order to the shipping gravity chutes.
