Morning panel discussion: A thousand and one forms of sustainability
Sustainability is mostly perceived in the context of environmental care. And this is undoubtedly a key view, as transport and supply chains in particular will be exposed to significant transformational pressure in the coming years and decades. Smart solutions that reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint have a strong future. However, sustainability takes several forms, like, for example, economic. The pandemic has decimated many areas of business and some companies have left the market or been absorbed. Furthermore, new business models need to be found that will be sustainable in an era of advancing digitization. In practice, artificial intelligence is already in place, which is changing the approach to production, trade and supply chain management. AI, robotics and automation will fundamentally change the labor market, which will therefore seek its new reality. And with that, social sustainability or the sustainability of human and industrial relations will have to be addressed. In short, the sustainability of the coming years has many forms and challenges, and we will address at least some of them in this panel discussion at the EASTLOG 2021 congress.
