Visit to the new automated warehouse of Plzeňský Prazdroj
At the start of this year, Plzeňský Prazdroj launched a new automated pallet warehouse (details here). The aim was to remove the racks from the place where a new bottling line was to be installed. The cost of the building reached 15 million euros, and that same amount was spent on technology from the company System Logistics. The stacker’s current form corresponds to the first stage of the project with 17,000 pallet places, and in the next stages the warehouse will have 42,000 pallet places. Located in a 30-meter-high building, it consists of ten lanes, eleven floors and ten cranes which are set up in double-deep mode. The hourly output of the warehouse corresponds to 290 pallets at the entrance and exit. Finished production or returnable packaging is transported to the warehouse by 28 gondolas, each for two pallets, which are equipped with roller conveyors. 600 meters of rails are stretched between the production and the warehouse. Production directly from the Pilsen brewery and other breweries of the group is stored in the warehouse, and the infrastructure can also be used to transport empty packaging to the bottling lines.
Your guides on the tour will be František Holý, warehouse manager, and Luděk Hraba, WHS project manager of Plzeňský Prazdroj.
