Ing. Aleš Špidla graduated with a degree in technical cybernetics. In 2011, as the director of the department of cyber security at the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, he drafted a cyber security strategy for the Czech Republic and participated in discussions on the subject and then on the Cyber Security Act itself. He also worked as head of the IT department of the State Institute for Drug Control, as the director of the security policy department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as a risk management manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, as a cyber security specialist in the state enterprise CENDIS, s.p., and as the head of the security unit in the state enterprise NAKIT, s.p. He currently works as a cyber security manager at the General Financial Directorate.
He is the president of the Czech Institute of Information Security Managers, a co-guarantor and teacher for the MBA program “Management and Cyber Security” and a co-guarantor and teacher of the LL.M Program “Information Protection” at the CEVRO Institute. He is intensively engaged in the evangelization of cyber and information security in all of its aspects. He lectures at conferences, performs in the media, and publishes articles on the subject.
Aleš Špidla is a certified cyber security auditor.
