He was born in the Ostrava region and graduated from the Technical University of Ostrava. He began his career as an analyst at the Czech National Bank, and after three years he moved to Česká spořitelna, where he has been chief economist since 2008. He specializes in macroeconomics, financial markets, megatrends, and prosperity issues. He is the co-author of the Prosperity and Financial Health Index.
