Michal Šmíd, Amazon

After obtaining an engineering degree in materials engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague, he studied at a university in Sweden. Before joining Amazon, he gained twelve years of experience in management positions in technology-focused companies, mainly in the automotive, e-commerce, and logistics sectors. During his nine-year tenure at Amazon, he held several management positions. From the start, he was part of the team that launched Amazon’s logistics center in Dobrovíz near Prague. Last year, he also supervised the opening of a new robotics center in Kojetin. He is currently the general manager at Amazon and is responsible for managing the entire company in the Czech Republic.
